Dear friends of Moline Church,
Welcome to our website. We hope that you will learn many things about our congregation, but most of all, about what God by His grace is doing here. My name is John Ouwinga. I have been the pastor here for over six years. It has gone so fast and we feel extremely blessed in ministry here. I want you to feel free to ask any question that you might have about our church or about what it means to be a Christian. Even more, I want you to know that Moline Church is a place where you will receive a warm and loving welcome. We want to hear your story and will pray for your needs and hopes. We would also be willing to meet you in your home if that is easier for you.
Our church is an evangelical church bringing the Gospel to all through three basic truths. I call them the three “alones.” First of all, we believe that Christ “alone” is our personal Lord and Savior. We believe that He gave the full and final sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins on the cross at Calvary. He has set us free from our sinfulness and has given all believers everlasting life. We find our comfort in Him “alone.” He is our Lord, guiding our lives as we seek to serve Him. Second, we have received all of the blessings of Jesus Christ by grace “alone.” We did not earn it or somehow achieve it. Salvation in Jesus Christ is a pure gift. God loves us as sinners and saves us by grace. Third, we come to know about our need to be saved, our Savior’s gift of salvation, and our commitment to respond as faithful servants of the Lord, from the Bible “alone.” Scripture is the complete and final authority for all of life. It is God’s Word forever.
Please contact us. We want to get to know you. We know that Jesus is the answer to your questions, and your only hope now and forever.
Seeking our Savior together,
Pastor John, for the Moline Christian Reformed Church
